PetMart Pharmacy is more than just a pharmacy. Like other pharmacies, we have licensed pharmacists on staff, but did you know that PetMart Pharmacy is actually owned and operated by licensed, practicing veterinarians?

We believe that our knowledge and expertise in veterinary medicine, combined with our extensive list of affordable products, will allow us to provide you with quality care and service, and more importantly, with peace of mind.

Yes! PetMart Pharmacy is a licensed pharmacy in all 50 states! For more information, see our state licensure page.

Here at PetMart Pharmacy, your pet’s needs are our top priority. We are owned and operated by practicing veterinarians. We purchase our medications directly from the manufacturer, just like your veterinarian. We are licensed and accredited, and you can check out our seals of accreditation at the bottom of our site!

You can feel safe knowing the medications dispensed from our pharmacy are quality medications, FDA approved, and purchased from highly reputable American pet pharmaceutical companies. Call us for any inquiries of expiration dates or lot numbers.

Our medications can be shipped to all 50 states! Check individual products for shipping restrictions.

Placing your order for prescriptions is easy. We do all the work for you! During the checkout process, you will be asked for some information about your pet and your veterinarian. Once the order is placed, we send an authorization form by fax to your pet’s veterinarian. Your veterinarian will review the medication request and fax it back to us. Upon approval, we ship your medications within one business day. Some veterinarians only provide written prescriptions for clients. If so, you simply mail the original written prescription to us.

If you are not 100% satisfied with our products, let us know. We will do everything we can to fix it. That’s why we offer refunds on products and merchandise returned within thirty days for OTC and Stock items.

Unfortunately, due to health considerations, we are unable to accept returns for prescription medications or medications whose protective seals or packaging have been broken. It is against federal pharmacy law for us to return ANY prescription bottles and medicines due to temperature conditions not being controlled, and medications residing outside of their protective seals. We are very sorry. Sometimes, customers are able to donate these medications to pets in need at local clinics and shelters as a way to “pay it forward.”

All returns for OTC and are subject to restocking fees and return shipping fees, if applicable.

Keeping your pet on monthly heartworm prevention year-round is extremely important for dogs and cats in all geographical areas, whether indoors or outdoors. Heartworm prevention is extremely effective when given regularly. To be effective, preventatives must be given around the same time each month, year-round.

Federal Guidelines for Clients to Dispose of Medications:

Do not flush prescription drugs down the toilet or drain unless the label or accompanying patient information specifically instructs you to do so. For information on drugs that should be flushed, visit the FDA’s website.

To dispose of prescription drugs not labeled to be flushed, you may be able to take advantage of community drug take-back programs, such as household hazardous waste collection events, that collect drugs at a central location for proper disposal. Call your city or county government’s household trash and recycling service, and ask if a drug take-back program is available in your community.

If a drug take-back or collection program is not available:

  1. Take your prescription drugs out of their original containers.
  2. Mix drugs with an undesirable substance, such as cat litter or used coffee grounds.
  3. Put this mixture into a disposable container with a lid, such as an empty margarine tub, or into a sealable bag.
  4. Conceal or remove any personal information, including Rx number, on the empty containers by covering it with black permanent marker or duct tape, or by scratching it off.
  5. Place the sealed container with the mixture, and the empty drug containers, in the trash.

For more information, visit the FDA website.

As always, we are committed to giving you quality medication at a quality price. We want to make sure that your product gets to you safely! Since our products ship all across the country, we know that different regions of the United States may experience temperature extremes. Whether it is an extremely hot summer or a frigid winter, we want to make sure your product gets to you and is safe to use.

Medications and products are often intended to be kept at room temperature. Temperature extremes can make the product unsafe to administer. We recommend that you pick Standard Shipping Signature Required at checkout if you believe your package may be subjected to extreme heat or cold while in your mailbox. This way, you can be sure that your medication is properly taken care of from the moment it leaves our facility to the moment it comes to your door.

Remember, you can always ship your package to a different location than your billing address. Make sure your package is delivered somewhere where it will be safe from the elements!

Yes! We can transfer a prescription that is on file with another pharmacy. If you would like us to do this, please call us and our pharmacist will make the transfer for you. If you are placing an order online, please select CONTACT VET during the checkout process. We will still need all of your veterinarian’s information for our records. During the final checkout step, there will be a box for special instructions. Please enter the pharmacy name, telephone number, and prescription number, if possible. We will use this information to transfer the prescription to our pharmacy!

Legitimate online pharmacies and pharmacy-related websites need a way to stand out against the overwhelming number of rogue internet drug outlets. The .pharmacy domain is an easy way to show consumers and search engines that a website is verified and safe!

Buying medicine online is as easy as looking for “.pharmacy” in a website address/URL. Unlike seals of approval posted on websites, the .pharmacy domain is part of a website’s address and cannot be faked.

We are a PCAB accredited compounding pharmacy. We offer non-sterile compounding services to make administering medications to your pets that much easier! We can make medications into tiny tablets, chewable treats, or even transdermal ear gels… all of which can be much easier than getting your pet to take that giant pill or funny smelling capsule.

Medications compounded by PetMart Pharmacy are prepared at the direction of a veterinarian and are patient-specific. PetMart Pharmacy does not participate in “office-use” compounds. PetMart Pharmacy’s compounded veterinary preparations are not intended for use in food producing animals.
