Prescription Process

We make ordering prescription medications easy at PetMart Pharmacy! We’ll do all the work for you – simply place your order online and provide your veterinarian’s information.  We’ll take it from there! We’ll contact your vet by fax and/or phone and make sure you receive your prescription medications quickly!

When you checkout, you’ll be asked to provide information about your pet and your veterinarian. This information allows us to process your prescription order in a timely manner. During checkout, you also choose how you would like us to obtain approval for your pet’s prescription medication. We can reach out to your veterinarian for approval or you can mail us a written prescription from your veterinarian.

Simply mail the original copy of the prescription to us. We’ll ship your medication the day we get your written prescription in the mail.

No written prescription? No problem! We’ll contact your pet’s veterinarian for you. We’ll use the information you provide during checkout to contact your veterinarian to obtain a faxed prescription authorization. We’ll ship your medication within one business day of your veterinarian faxing back an approved Prescription Authorization Form. If your vet won’t fax us your prescription, you may need to visit or call your vet to obtain a written prescription.

We can also transfer a prescription that you have on file at another pharmacy. If you would like us to do this, please call us and we will have our pharmacist make this transfer for you.

You’ll receive an email from us every step of the way so you’ll know exactly what’s going on with your prescription medication order!

Any refills you have will remain on file, however if you don’t see them in your online account, don't worry!
During checkout, select the option that lets us know your refill is on file.
