The Adaptil Collar utilizes a synthetic copy of the canine appeasing pheromone to help with canine behavioral problems.
Adaptil Collar Basics
Adaptil collars are available over the counter. No prescription is required to purchase this product. Adaptil collars use a synthetic copy of the dog appeasing pheromone (D.A.P.). This pheromone has been shown to comfort dogs of all ages. Mother dogs produce D.A.P. for 3 – 5 days after birthing puppies. Adaptil can help with stressful situations such as veterinary office visits, boarding, traveling, and noise aversions. Collars remain effective for up to four weeks. Collars come in two sizes: Small/Medium, for dogs whose neck size is less than 14.7 inches and Medium/Large, for dogs whose neck size is under 24.6 inches.
Use as directed by your veterinarian. Follow the instructions printed on the product packaging. Use the plastic loop to uncoil the collar. Fasten the collar, then place it over your pet’s neck. Tighten the collar, making sure the collar is not too tight around your dog’s neck. You should only be able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck. After sizing the collar to fit your pet, cut off any excess.
Do not open the protective pouch until you are ready to use the product. Replace Adaptil collars after four (4) weeks of use. Remove the Adaptil collar before bathing your pet as it will not work if wet.
Store at room temperature protected from light and moisture.
