Atenolol Compound Warnings

Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use in pets that are pregnant or nursing, suffer from congestive heart failure (CHF), or have a known hypersensitivity to atenolol. Use with caution in patients with renal insufficiency or diabetes. This drug may interact with some other medications. Therefore, inform your veterinarian of any and all medications your pet may be taking. This is especially important if your pet is currently taking sympathomimetics, anesthetic agents, phenothiazines, furosemide, calcium channel blockers, hydralazine, or drugs that cause hypotension. Do not stop giving this medication unless instructed by your veterinarian. Stopping treatment abruptly can cause extreme worsening of symptoms in your pet. Finally, if you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while administering Atenolol, contact your veterinarian immediately.
