Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution Basics
Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution treats primary and some cases of secondary glaucoma in dogs. This solution works by lowering intraocular pressure.
Bimatoprost requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It comes in two different strengths: 0.01% and 0.03%. The 0.01% solution is available in a 2.5 mL bottle. The 0.03% solution is available in both a 2.5 mL bottle and a 7.5 mL bottle.
Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution Directions
Use as directed by your veterinarian, and follow all instructions printed on the prescription label. Complete the entire prescription unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian. Dosage and length of administration depend on the condition being treated and response to the medication. Wait for five minutes after applying this product to apply other eye medications.
Keep refrigerated or at controlled room temperature. Do not allow this product to freeze. Keep product protected from light and moisture. In addition, be sure to store this product with the bottle securely tightened.
Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution Warnings
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. This product is for use in dogs only. Do not use in cats. When administering this solution, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface, including your hand or your pet’s eye. Doing so will contaminate the applicator. Do not use bimatoprost in pets with intraocular inflammation. Do not use this medication if the solution becomes cloudy or unclear or if particles appear in the solution. If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while administering this product, contact your veterinarian immediately.
