Calcium Carbonate Compound Basics
Calcium carbonate is available by prescription only. Calcium carbonate is used to help treat chronic renal failure and chronic hypocalcemia. This compound is available in a capsule and an oral suspension form.

Calcium Carbonate Compound Warnings
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Use with caution in pregnant pets. Calcium carbonate may interact with other medications. Inform your veterinarian of any and all medications your pet may be taking, especially aspirin, ciprofloxacin, fluroquinolones, or tetracycline. Use with caution if your pet also suffers from hypercalcemia or kidney disease. Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Shake suspension before use.

Calcium Carbonate Compound Directions
Use as directed by your veterinarian. Follow the instructions printed on the prescription label. Calcium carbonate should be given with meals. Store at room temperature. Store capsules in a dry place. Shake suspensions well before use.
