Cerenia Basics

Cerenia treats vomiting and motion sickness in dogs. It contains the active ingredient, maropitant citrate. Maropitant citrate blocks certain signals in your pet’s brain to help prevent vomiting. While other medications can make your pet drowsy, Cerenia does not. It effectively manages motion sickness without sedating your dog.

Cerenia requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It comes in blister packs of 4 tablets of different strengths: 16 mg, 24 mg, 60 mg, and 160 mg.

Cerenia Directions

Use as directed by your veterinarian, and follow all instructions printed on the prescription label. Complete the entire prescription unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian. Do not administer Cerenia in fatty foods, such as cheese or meat. In addition, be sure to administer this medication at least 1 hour after feeding.

Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.
