Ciprofloxacin Compound Basics
Ciprofloxacin is available by prescription only. Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat wide range of bacterial infections, including skin and soft-tissue infections, wound infections, respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and kidney infections. Fluoroquinolones kill susceptible strains of bacteria by preventing their DNA from unwinding, thus preventing the bacterial DNA from duplicating. Ciprofloxacin compound is available in a capsule, oral suspension, and tiny tablet.
