Clomicalm Basics

Clomicalm modifies destructive behaviors in animals who suffer from anxiety issues. It belongs to a class of drugs known as tricyclic antidepressants and treats separation anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, and aggression. Clomicalm works by keeping serotonin levels in the brain balanced.

This product requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It is available in 5mg, 20mg, and 80mg tablets.

Clomicalm Directions

Give as directed by your veterinarian and follow the instructions printed on the prescription label. Complete the entire prescription unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian. Dosage and duration of treatment depend on the condition being treated and response to the medication. In the case of a missed dose, give it as soon as you remember or wait until it is time to give the next dose. Do NOT give a double dose of Clomicalm. Allow access to plenty of water.

Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.

Clomicalm Warnings

Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to clomicalm. Use with caution in animals with a known seizure disorder. Avoid use in animals with slow gastrointestinal tract, abnormal heart rhythms, or glaucoma. Do not stop giving Clomicalm suddenly. Your pet should be weaned off of this drug slowly. Use caution when dosing for cats. If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while administering this medication, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Adverse Reactions and Serious Side Effects

Adverse reactions and serious side effects are rare, however, they can occur. In the case of and adverse reaction or serious side effect, seek immediate veterinary attention. Overdosing is possible with this medication. Symptoms of an overdose include seizures, drowsiness, lethargy, disorientation, and low blood pressure.
