Clotrimazole is an antifungal solution used to treat skin and ear infections caused by fungi.
Clotrimazole is available by prescription only.Clotrimazole is used to treat fungal infections. Clotrimazole is effective in the treatment of common skin and ear yeast. Clotrimazole prevents the growth of fungi by interfering with the production of the fungal cell wall.
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Keep clotrimazole away from the eyes and mucous membranes. Do not use in pregnant dogs. Let your veterinarian know if your pet is taking any other medications during clotrimazole treatment. Clotrimazole may interact with some other medications. If skin irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian. Store at room temperature.
Use as directed by your veterinarian. Keep clotrimazole out of the eyes and mucous membranes. To ensure a full recovery, be sure to complete the entire prescription, unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian.
For skin infections:
- Clean and dry the affected area
- Apply to the skin as directed.
For ear infections:
- Clean and dry the external ear.
- Clip excess hair from the affected area.
- Apply to the ear canal as directed.
If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while administering clotrimazole, contact your veterinarian immediately.
