Comfortis for Dogs Basics

Comfortis for Dogs is a chewable tablet that prevent flea infestations and kill existing flea populations. The active ingredient in this product is spinosad. Spinosad activates receptors in fleas that cause the loss of muscle control. The excited state caused by the activated receptors causes an overload on the flea’s nervous system, ultimately killing the fleas. Comfortis can be used in both cats and dogs older than 14 weeks.

Comfortis for Dogs requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It comes in beef-flavored tablets and is available in several sizes based on your pet’s weight.

  • 5 – 10 pounds  (Pink Box)
  • 10.1 – 20 pounds  (Orange Box)
  • 20.1 – 40 pounds  (Green Box)
  • 40.1 – 60 pounds  (Blue Box)
  • 60.1 – 120 pounds  (Brown Box)
