Frontline Spray Basics
Frontline Spray is a phenylpyrazole, an antiparasitic agent used to kill adult fleas and ticks. The active ingredient in Frontline Spray, fipronil, collects in the oils of the skin and in the hair follicles. Frontline Spray is not absorbed into the body and does not circulate through the bloodstream. Frontline Spray is spreads by translocation. Frontline Spray is used to treat adult fleas, Brown dog ticks, American dog ticks, Lone Star ticks, Deer ticks, and chewing lice. Frontline Spray controls flea and tick infestations by interfering with the brain and spinal cord of insects. Frontline Spray kills adult fleas. Frontline Spray kills all life stages of ticks. The effects of Frontline Spray last for 30 days. Frontline Spray is waterproof. Frontline Spray is for use in puppies and kittens older than 8 weeks of age.
Frontline Spray Warnings
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Frontline Spray is for topical use in animals only. Do not use in puppies or kittens less than 8 weeks old or rabbits. Do not shampoo your pet for 48 hours after application. Use with caution in old or debilitated animals and animals that are pregnant or nursing. Use gloves when applying Frontline Spray. Some localized irritation may occur at the application site. Frontline Spray is flammable. Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.
Frontline Spray Directions
Use as directed by your veterinarian. Follow the instructions printed on the product label. Store at room temperature. Wear latex gloves when applying Frontline Spray. Hold the bottle in the upright position for spray application. Apply the spray all over your pet’s body, except the face, until the coat is lightly damp. For the head and face, apply Frontline Spray on a gloved hand and rub it in gently around your pet’s head. Avoid contact with your pet’s eyes. Ruffle your pet’s coat while applying spray. Wait 24 hours before bathing or letting your pet get wet after application.
Dosage for Dogs and Cats
Spray approximately 1 to 2 pumps per pound of body weight. Reapply Frontline Spray every 30 days.
Irritation at the application site may occur. If you notice any other side effects during Frontline treatment, contact your veterinarian.
