IV Fluids Basics
IV Fluids are available by prescription only. Lactated ringers is an electrolyte solution that is used to help dehydrated animals replace much needed fluids and electrolytes. The causes of dehydration may vary, but animals suffering from kidney disease and nausea are often treated with lactated ringers. Lactated ringers is administered with a macro-drip I.V. set that is either given intravenous (I.V.) or subcutaneously with a needle (provided by your veterinarian).

Lactated Ringers Warnings
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Warm solution to body temperature before use. Lactated ringers are not for use in pets suffering from renal dysfunction and lactic acidosis. Store at room temperature.

Lactated Ringers Directions
Administer as directed by your veterinarian. Follow the instructions printed on the prescription label. Store at room temperature. Keep out of the reach of children.
