Prazosin is used to treat high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and spasms of the urethra.
$0.82 – $1.05
Prazosin is available by prescription only. Prazosin is used to treat dogs and cats suffering from hypertension, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and urethra spasms (straining to urinate). Prazosin acts as a vasodilator to relax the smooth muscles found throughout the body. By relaxing the muscles surrounding the vascular system, blood pressure is lowered, making it easier for the heart to pump blood more efficiently through the body.
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Not recommended for use in pregnant or lactating animals. Lowering blood pressure may cause dizziness and disorientation. Wash your hands after giving this medication. Store at room temperature.
Use as directed by your veterinarian. Follow the instructions printed on the prescription label. Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Complete the entire prescription, even if your pet seems to be improving, unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian. Allow your pet access to plenty of water. Prazosin should be given with food.
If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while administering Prazosin, contact your veterinarian immediately. Side effects are more likely when Prazosin is administered with other potent drugs, such as diuretics or vasodilators.
