Terbutaline Basics

Terbutaline treats respiratory problems and mild heart issues. It is used to treat asthma, bronchitis, collapsing trachea, tracheobronchitis, mild heart failure, and certain lung conditions such as pulmonary edema. This medication stimulates receptors in the airways which causes the muscles to relax. This, in turn, dilates the airways and blood vessels which makes it easier to breathe.

Terbutaline requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It is available in 2.5mg and 5mg tablets.

Terbutaline Directions

Give as directed by your veterinarian, and follow all instructions printed on the prescription label. Complete the entire prescription unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian. Dosage and duration of treatment depend on the condition being treated and response to the medication. Allow your pet access to plenty of water throughout treatment.

Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.

Terbutaline Warnings

Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use in animals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to terbutaline.
