Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic Solution Directions
Use as directed by your veterinarian, and follow all instructions printed on the prescription label. Complete the entire prescription unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian. Dosage and duration of treatment depend on the condition being treated and response to the medication.
Store solution at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep the cap securely fastened when not in use. Do not let the tip of the applicator touch any surface.
Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic Solution Warnings
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Do not administer in pets with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of its ingredients. Use with caution if your pet suffers from asthma, diabetes, or heart failure. Timolol may mask symptoms of low blood sugar in pets suffering from diabetes. Therefore, be sure to monitor your pet carefully throughout treatment. Wait five minutes before applying any other eye medication. Do not use if the solution has changed color or any precipitates have formed. While administering timolol, do not let the tip of the applicator touch any surface, including your hands or your pet’s eyes. Touching the applicator to a surface could cause contamination and the spread of infection. If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while administering this medication, contact your veterinarian immediately.
