$0.11 – $0.13
Torsemide treats congestive heart failure. This diuretic is ten times more potent than furosemide, another diuretic used to treat congestive heart failure. It works by preventing sodium and chloride from being reabsorbed.
Torsemide requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It is available in 5 mg and 10 mg tablets.
Use as directed by your veterinarian, and follow all instructions printed on the prescription label. Give doses with or without food. Allow your pet access to plenty of water throughout treatment. Complete the entire prescription unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian. Dosage and duration of treatment depend on the condition being treated and response to the medication.
Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use in pets with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to diuretic drugs. Use with caution in pets that suffer from diabetes or liver disease. Use with caution in pets that are pregnant or lactating. Torsemide may interact with some other medications. Therefore, inform your veterinarian of any and all medications your pet may be taking. This is especially important if your pet is currently taking ACE inhibitors or non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while administering torsemide, contact your veterinarian immediately.
