Ursodiol Basics

Ursodiol treats gall bladder and liver disease. It works by suppressing cholesterol.

This medication requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It is available in 250mg tablets and 300mg capsules.

Ursodiol Directions

Use as directed by your veterinarian and follow the instructions printed on the prescription label. Complete the entire prescription unless told otherwise by your veterinarian. Dosage and duration of treatment depend on the condition being treated and response to medication. Give ursodiol with food.

Store tablets at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.

Ursodiol Warnings

Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use in rabbits or rodents. Do not use in pets with hypersensitivity to ursodiol. Use with caution if your pet suffers from gallstones, obstruction, or pancreatitis or if your pet is pregnant or nursing. Ursodiol may interact with some other drugs. Therefore, inform your veterinarian of any and all drugs your pet may be taking, especially antacids or taurine.

If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while administering this medication, contact your veterinarian immediately.
