Zobuxa Basics

Zobuxa is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone. It treats bacterial infections found in the intestinal tract, urinary tract, liver, lungs, prostate, and skin. Fluoroquinolones work by inhibiting the replication of bacterial DNA.
This product requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It is available in 22.7mg, 68mg, 136mg, and 272mg tablets.

Zobuxa Directions

Use as directed by your veterinarian. Make sure to give antibiotics until the prescription is finished, unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian. Dosage and duration of treatment depend on the condition being treated and response to the medication. In the case of a missed dose, give as soon as you remember or wait until the next dose. Do NOT give a double dose of Zobuxa, as an overdose can occur.
Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.

Zobuxa Warnings

Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Do no use in young dogs of ages 2-8 mos. in small to medium breed dogs, 2-12 mos. in large breed dogs, or 2-18 mos. in giant breed dogs. This medication may interact with some other medications. Therefore, it is important to inform your veterinarian of any and all medications your pet may be taking, especially warfarin, theophylline, probenecid, phenytoin, or cyclosporine. Do not use in animals that are pregnant, nursing, or allergic to fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Do not administer within 2 hours of giving vitamins or minerals, dairy products, or antacids. Use caution when giving Zobuxa to animals with central nervous system disorders. If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while administering Zobuxa, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Allergic Reactions and Serious Side Effects

Allergic reactions and serious side effect are rare, however, they can occur. In the case of an allergic reaction or serious side effect, contact your veterinarian immediately. Some signs of a serious side effect or reaction may include facial swelling, hives, or breathing difficulties. Symptoms of an overdose may include vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite.
