Shipping Information

By law, we cannot ship out prescription items until authorization is received from your pet’s veterinarian. Authorization from your pet’s veterinarian may be given via phone, fax, email, or written prescription received in the mail.

Orders are shipped Monday through Friday. All prescription medication authorizations and OTC orders received after 3pm will ship the following business day. Prescription authorizations and OTC orders received after 3pm on Friday will ship out the following Monday. Please note that PetMart Pharmacy does not ship orders on Saturdays, Sundays, or government observed holidays.

We offer free shipping via USPS Standard First Class Mail for all orders over $49. Shipping time for USPS Standard First Class Mail is 5-7 business days. Temperature sensitive or oversized items may not qualify for free shipping. Please check the product page to see if your item(s) qualify for free shipping.

Please allow additional time for compounded medications.  Medications specially compounded by our pharmacist will ship 1-2 business days after veterinarian approval is received.

We recommend that you obtain any emergency medications and/or medications for acute illness at a local veterinarian or pharmacy. If you still wish to obtain emergency medication from PetMart Pharmacy, several expedited delivery options are available. If we are unable to provide the medication as quickly as needed, PetMart Pharmacy will contact the prescribing veterinarian to arrange for the medication to be made available immediately at a veterinary hospital or local pharmacy.

You will receive order status updates via email if a valid email address is provided during checkout. Updates include order confirmation notifications, shipping notifications, and tracking information. You may also track your order on USPS and/or UPS websites.

If you are concerned about package theft, or extreme weather conditions, signature confirmation is available through our services. Be advised this extra service comes with an added minimal fee. The majority of products offered by PetMart Pharmacy can be obtained within 24 hours, if not available on-hand.

Please let us know if you are not 100% satisfied with our products, and we will do everything we can to fix it. We offer refunds, exchanges, or store credits on qualifying products and merchandise returned within thirty (30) days. Please note that returns are subject to 10% restocking fees and return shipping fees, when applicable.

For over-the-counter products and stock products, please contact us within 30 days of receipt for return instructions.

Due to health considerations and federal pharmacy law, we are unable to accept returns for prescription medications or medications whose protective seals or packaging have been opened. Federal pharmacy law prohibits this due to temperature conditions not being controlled and medications residing outside of their protective seals.

If you have placed an order with us and would like to cancel it, please call us at (877) 220–6337. A customer service representative will help you cancel the order as soon as possible. If the order has already shipped, you may be subject to shipping charges associated with our return policy, as well as a 10% restocking fee.

Products that are temperature-sensitive will be packaged using USPS specialized packaging and sent via USPS Express Mail. This includes dry ice shipment and replenishment, refrigeration intervention, and around-the-clock monitoring when indicated. PetMart Pharmacy is not liable for temperatures of packages at the delivery point. If you feel this may be an issue, please allow for a delivery address and signature of your package so that it can be received and kept in a temperature appropriate environment.

Any refills you have will remain on file, however if you don’t see them in your online account, don't worry!
